Make sure to tag @LAHRealEstate on your social media posts so that we can share them. Remember to make your posts public so that everyone can see and share them.
Do not use #linkinbio in your posts. Instagram does not like links because it directs traffic off of IG to another site, so the algorithm will bury your post if it includes #linkinbio.
Create better stories that match and have a plot like an actual story and use the poll feature at the end of stories to keep your followers engaged.
Have 2-3 hashtags in your bio. Ex. #lahrealestate #birminghamarearealtor #realtorlife
Using hashtags is a great way to get more people to see your posts on Facebook and Instagram. Here are a few that we like to use...
#lahrealestate #realestate #realestateagent #realtor #realtorlife #forsale #sold #home #love #instagood #photooftheday #picoftheday #beautiful #tbt #happy #cute #like4like #followme #follow #homesforsale #homesweethome #stoprenting #instagood #birmingham #alabama #sundayopenhouse #home #dreamhome #noplacelikehome #newlisting #justlisted #instagood #birminghamalabama
What are #Hashtags and how to use them.
How to trim videos before posting.
Videos are only allowed to be 1 minute long on IG. After you select the video that you would like to post, click "Next" in the top right corner. Then you will see options at the bottom of the screen for "Filter", "Trim" or "Cover". Select "Trim" in the bottom center. Use the start point (bar on the left) and end point (bar on the right) of the video to select the section you would like to include for your 1 minute post. Your selection will be in the middle of the start and end point bars.
Are the videos you are posting to Instagram showing up as a blank or solid color screen in the post? You can select the cover of a video on IG!
After you select the video that you would like to post, click "Next" in the top right corner. Then you will see options at the bottom of the screen for "Filter", "Trim" or "Cover". Select "Cover" in the bottom right and you can scroll through your video to find the perfect image to show up in the post. This will make your IG page look better without having blank or solid color posts and also will show up as the photo you choose from the video when shared to a story.
Social Media Time Saver
Post pics to Instagram first and turn on the button to Share to Facebook. Make sure to choose your FB Business page. This will automatically share the pics to your FB page as well as your IG.
Is your photo too large for Instagram?
You can zoom out on the app. After you select your photo to post in the app, click the small brackets < > in the bottom left corner of the photo you have chosen. This will zoom the photo out so that more of it will show when posted.
Want to upload a video longer than 1 minute?
On Instagram, you will need to upload the video to IGTV. This is basically a place where Instagram houses the longer videos.
UPLOADING TO IGTV
Tap at the bottom and choose the video you want to upload, then tap Next.
Select Long Video to share a video that’s at least 60 seconds to IGTV. Videos shorter than 60 seconds can be shared to your feed and profile by selecting Short Video > Continue.
Tap and slide the image at the bottom of the screen to select a cover image or tap Add from Camera Roll (iPhone) or Add from Gallery (Android). Tap Next.
Add a title and description.
If you’d like to add your video to an IGTV series, tap Add to Series. Note that if this is your first time creating a series, you’ll need to create a series name.
You can choose to post a preview of your video to Feed and your profile or share your video to a Facebook Page, then tap Post.
Previews will automatically be the first 15 seconds of your video.
If you’ve chosen to post a preview, you can tap Edit Profile Cover to adjust how your IGTV cover photo shows up on your profile grid.
You can also tap Edit Preview to adjust how your IGTV video will be previewed in feed (you’ll only have this option if your video is 9:16. If 16:9, your video will show in full).
